When Edward VII popularized the Glen Check it definitely wasn’t in a jacket like this one. The Pure Blue Japan Glen Check Type II Jacket is a wacky take on the classic outerwear piece that brings some pattern to the mix.
It bears the resemblance of a Type II in many ways: pleated front, dual chest pockets, and waist adjusters. They even use indigo to dye the yarns of the fabric which will result in fading over time. But, rather than a traditional twill denim, they used several different shades of rope dyed indigo yarns to form the classic Glen Check pattern.
